GET AHEAD OF THE GAME NOW

99% of college basketball players will not make it to the NBA. TransitionG's mission is to use this glaring statistic to prepare our athletes for the inevitable transition. With an emphasis on personal and professional development, our goal is to change basketball culture one player at a time.

My name is Allen Kehinde Aragbaye and I’m a former Division 1 basketball player. I spent over 17 years dedicated to playing the game, so I know exactly what it’s like to devote your entire life to the singular goal of making it to the NBA.

Ninety-nine percent of college basketball players do not make it to the NBA. Ninety-nine. Despite this glaring stat, we all think we are going to make it. And we should. You can’t become successful if you don’t believe you can. I am not in the business of killing dreams. I fully understand that there is something special about being able to wake up every morning and strive for your goals; that is something I value greatly. However, the pursuit of a hoop dream cannot be at the expense of a transition game.

What I have found is that young athletes become so immersed in the game itself that they fail to properly prepare for their life after ball. By the time it’s all over, you realize you aren’t ready for the real world. Many of us have heard phrases like “basketball won’t last forever” or “take your education serious” but these words are just empty warnings that don’t really show us the other side of things.

I am fully committed to help alleviate this problem because I believe there is an opportunity to maximize the lives of talented players who fall short of the NBA. There is great value in these athletes, and it is up to us to bring it out of them. This is what my business, brand and book is all about. Ultimately, if we can change the way athletes perceive the game, then we can help those within the ninety-nine optimize their transition game.
